Changing Lives
Ashraful Aid Sri Lanka is a Sri Lanka based registered Charity. Ashraful Aid Sri Lanka, formerly known as NAID Foundation (NAID Sri Lanka), We are a non-profit charitable organisation striving to improve lives of marginalized and underprivileged, across the Sri Lanka. All our charitable work is carried out by a dedicated team of volunteers and in partnership with other charities that share the same ethos.
We aim to improve living standards and offer fair opportunities for a better quality of life by providing essential services like safe food, clean water, livelihood, medical care, and education. All our charitable projects are set up to support the poor, the less fortunate, the vulnerable and the needy in their day to day lives.
REHABILITATING EXISTING WELLS
At the heart of our approach is the belief in quality over quantity. We are devoted to bringing our charitable efforts to a more personal level, where the dignity and integrity of each individual we serve is held in the highest regard. Our mission transcends the provision of one-time aid like food distribution. Instead, we focus on meticulously identifying those in dire need and tailoring our support to transform their lives based on their specific circumstances and requirements.
We work with respect for the rights of all people to determine their own destiny and development, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, age or gender.
We provide clean water, sanitation and promoting hygiene education among to needy and grass-root communities and we build comprehensive for community water solutions
We are committed to build a culture of learning and sharing. We believe that knowledge sharing is an effective tool to fight poverty and injustice.
We through job-specific skills training and mentorship, we enable people to transform their earning potential, recover their food security and sustainable livelihoods.
We provide food, shelter and medical Services as well as providing emergency relief assistance to the affected people during disasters and crises.
We rehabilitate socially marginalized orphans and women-headed families and provide them with hope, and opportunities for a better future
Every year during the holy month of Ramadan, we provide food packages to fasting to more than a thousand poor families living in disadvantaged villages in Sri Lanka, and we also conduct Iftar programs to break the fast in madrasahs and mosques
We are working with experienced local partners, Masjid and experts, we ensure that recipient and needy families receive high quality Qurbani meat, in a manner consistent with religious requirements during the time of Eid-ul-Adha.
Current Projects
Ashraful Aid Sri Lanka. provides permanent pipe borne water connections for poor and vulnerable families in rural villages who have to travel far to fetch water drinking water.
Through the water, sanitation and hygiene. since 1999, we’ve improved facilities rural and disadvantaged communities, completing over 30000+ projects for 660,000 beneficiaries over 6 Provinces in Sri Lanka with local and international donor support.
Wells can last for over a decade with regular maintenance, but eventually will need a major overhaul. Through our expertise and skilled workers, we install a new pump, repair the cement slab, or blow debris out of the bottom of the old well.
Sustainability must be part of the long-term solution. We maintain over 130 Tube wells with water tank across the country, keeping the clean water flowing for over 130 rural poor families.
Ashraful Aid has constructing over 40 new community wells in Sri Lanka where each well provides safe, clean and healthy water for over 1480 rural poor and needy families.
Livelihood development
Ashraful Aid Sri Lanka is implementing livelihood development program to increase the income of 553 poor and led women headed families who have been identified from the backward villages in Ampara, Batticaloa, Trincomalee districts in Sri Lanka. Under this scheme, agriculture, inland and lagoon fishing, small scale dairy farming activities ventures have been provided with financial and equipment assistance.
200 families involved in small scale agriculture and highland corps have been provided with the necessary financial assistance including seeds and seed paddy, fertilizers and sprayer.
230 fishermen who are fishing in inland and lagoons have been provided with small boats and fishing equipment.13 people are provided with bicycles and boxes for fish businesses through this project
120 poor and low income families have been provided with good racial cows to start a small amount of dairy farming activities.
